What is a Lace Wig?

If you've never heard of a lace wig, you're not on your own. In the past lace wigs were used mainly by actress and people who suffered hair loss due to medical problems and/or illness. In recent time, celebrities like Beyonce and Tyra Banks are making lace wigs incredibly popular. A lace wig is different to any other wig. They are so realistic that you can be sitting right next to someone and not know they are wearing a wig. Here at Wigalicious we use 100% Human hair.

A lace wig is built on a very sheer lace cap, and the key feature is that at the hairline, and when parted, a lace wig looks incredibly natural, as if the hair is growing right out of the scalp.

Can I wear my hair all up and in ponytails?

Yes, all our wigs are full lace to allow you to wear your hair in those styles.

What is Yaki hair?

Yaki texture is process we do to your wig that adds a micro kink to the hair strands to imitate black relaxed hair.

If you are white or Asian, you will not want to choose a Yaki Texture.

What is Remy hair?

Remy Hair is human hair that is the softest and most natural hair on the market. The majority of human hair sold in the industry is non-cuticle hair. The hair cuticle has been stripped by using an acid-bath. However, with Remy hair, this is not done, so the hair cuticle is intact, therefore the hair is stronger. It also makes the hair softer and more natural and makes it so it does not tangle which allows it to be ideal for longer wear.

What is the difference between Indian Remy and Chinese Remy Hair?

Indian Remy hair is the most versatile hair. It can easily be curled, waved / styled and is less course than Chinese Remy hair.

Chinese Remy hair should only be chosen if you want an EXTREMELY straight wig, which has a natural shine, and does not hold curl, and is slightly more course.

How long can I keep my wig on?

That purely depends on the strength of the adhesive you choose to use, and your personal comfort.

Our safe grip adhesive and our Ultra Hold adhesive both have a maximum hold time of 6 weeks. This type of adhesive is recommended for extended wears (customers who decide to constantly wear their wigs)

Our MityTite Wig Glue has a hold time of up to 10 days. Our daily wearing customers usually go for this type of adhesive.

How long will my wig last?

Your lace wig can last for many months; some of our customers have mentioned that their wigs are still in good condition over a year later. Your wig life span depends on the maintenance and usage of your wig.

Who Can Wear Lace Wigs?

Our wigs are for anyone - both young and old, adults, teens and children. Also perfect for cancer patients, alopecia patients, and anyone going through hair loss due to chemotherapy or scalp disease.

I have a head full of hair - Can I still wear a lace wig?

YES, all you have to do is braid your hair in small flat cornrows either in a beehive or straight back. Or you can wrap your hair flat back.

Then use a wig cap to keep your natural hair in place. It's that simple.

What does Wig Density mean?

Density is defined as how thick or thin you want your hair to be. The standard and most popular choice is 120% which is Medium Thick Density. The average human head is considered 100% density so 120% is thicker.

Can I exercise or go swimming in the wigs?

YES, the wig is just like your regular hair so you can do all normal activities with it on such as exercising, swimming, showering, sweating, etc. No one will ever know that it is not your own natural hair. The only time you do not get it wet is the first 24 hours after applying the adhesive. There are also special water proof adhesives that you can use as well. You will want to buy water proof glue like the Ultra Hold for swimming.

How soon can I get my custom made wig?

Normal processing time for custom wigs is approx. 4 weeks from the time you place your order.
RUSH PROCESSING

If available, for an additional fee also have a rush processing option available on all custom wigs. Rush Processing time is 3 weeks.

Will anyone be able to tell that I am wearing a wig?

Nope! When applied correctly, your wig will be undetectable and look completely natural, unlike those cheap synthetic costume wigs, or extensions & weaves that grow out.

That is the beauty of the full lace wig - it is totally undetectable and creates a flawless hairline. No one will know that you have a wig on. The wig is glued to the entire outside perimeter of your head creating its own invisible hairline. We provide you with step-by-step instructions on how to put your wig on our website. You will be able to put the wig on yourself just like a professional and get the same flawless hairlines as you see in the picture.

What is Baby Hair?

Baby hair is fine, short hair hand knotted around the perimeter. The purpose is to make the hairline look natural.

We can also customize your baby, for example, if you would prefer only baby hair in the back, or only baby hair in the front, you can add that as a note to your custom wig order.

Can I style my wig?

YES, Remy Hair can be styled just like regular hair. You can set it, blow dry it, hot curl it, etc. It is 100% Virgin Human Remy Hair and will style like your own natural hair does.

Can I part my wig anywhere?

There are several different options you can choose when ordering a custom lace wig.

If you choose the "Freestyle (part anywhere) option you will be able to part your lace wig anywhere.

If you choose you we can also create the wig to have a natural part in the centre, left or right side.

Are lace wigs less expensive than hair extensions & weaves?

The answer is YES!
Hair extensions are very expensive, you are not only paying the for hair, but also paying a stylist to install and up-keep. Extensions require a lot of maintenance and you have to go back to the hairdressers every couple of weeks to have your extensions maintained. This can really add up the £££!

Extensions also damage your scalp and hair, and can actually cause you to permanently lose your hair. . A lace wig can last for 6+ months with proper care. If you are a daily wig wearer we suggest getting a few different wigs, and alternating them, so your wigs will last much longer.
